Matt Brooks Counselling

A confidential space to explore the thoughts,

feelings and challenges in your life

Counselling and therapy for individuals in a safe, comfortable and private setting

Hello, my name is Matt and welcome to my website. I am an Integrative – Relational counsellor in Hersham and Walton-on-Thames, offering a friendly, confidential and supportive space for you to talk about your concerns and whatever may be troubling you.

My aim is to help you make sense of your thoughts and feelings around your current situation and to explore the events that brought you to where you are today.

I know how hard it can be to make that first call to ask for help from a therapist you don’t know. As someone who has worked with my own personal therapist, I remember well my initial nervousness when making that first phone call – it was one of the hardest things I’ve done, yet ultimately one of the most rewarding.

I offer an initial 15-20 minute free telephone consultation in which we can discuss what brings you to seek help, how therapy works and what you can expect from me as your counsellor. During this call, we can start to get a feel for how we might work together and whether we are a good fit, before booking an initial counselling session. I can offer Both in person and online therapy via a secure video-conferencing platform. Research and personal experience have shown that online therapy can be just as effective as working in person, but there are some additional considerations that need to be assessed. If you are interested in online therapy, more details can be found here.

Professional Membership

I am a Registered BACP and ACTO member, I am committed to work within the BACP Ethical framework for Counsellors, the BACP Guidelines for Online counselling and Psychotherapy and the ACTO code of ethics.

Making the decision to see a counsellor is a big step to take – and it can be a positive one. Please read on to find out more about how I could help you, or contact me.

I work with individual adults aged 18 upwards, including older adults aged 50, 60 and 70+. I am unable to offer counselling to those under 18 years of age or who are in crisis. If this applies to you, links to provide information regarding agencies that may be able to assist can be found here:
